Smith-Cooper’s shareholders retained BlackArch Partners to manage the sale of the company, seeking to leverage the BlackArch team’s signifi cant experience positioning distribution businesses that occupy a strategic position in the supply chain.
BlackArch maximized interest in Smith-Cooper by emphasizing the Company’s highly differentiated business model, including its unique, often exclusive, partnerships with Asia-Pacific manufacturers, its branded product offerings and its highly valued services. With management holding a significant ownership stake, BlackArch targeted proposals from potential investors who would provide liquidity and serve as strong strategic partners.
Smith-Cooper was sold to Blue Point Capital Partners, a financial sponsor with deep experience executing Asian related strategies in partnership with its portfolio companies.
