Johnny Conklin is a Managing Director of BlackArch. He has more than a decade of experience in middle-market mergers, acquisitions and capital raising transactions as both an advisor and a principal. He has advised on transactions with an aggregate value in excess of $4 billion and completed more than 40 transactions during his career.
Mr. Conklin serves as co-head of BlackArch’s Business & Professional Services Group with specific experience in the environmental and waste, testing and inspection, facility/building automation, security and information services subsectors. In addition, he also has transaction experience in the fields of Applied Technology & Digital Media; Distribution & Supply Chain Management; Energy; Healthcare Products & Services; and Industrial Growth & Diversified Manufacturing.
Prior to joining BlackArch, Mr. Conklin provided liquidity and growth capital to middle-market industrial and distribution businesses in the form of alternative debt and sale-leaseback transactions. Prior to his principal investing activities, Mr. Conklin was an associate with Edgeview Partners, a middle-market investment bank founded by BlackArch co-founders Drew Quartapella and Matt Salisbury. Mr. Conklin also served as an investment banking analyst in the Healthcare practice at Raymond James & Associates, Inc., in St. Petersburg, FL.
Mr. Conklin earned his undergraduate degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech), receiving highest honors for his BS in management. While at Georgia Tech, Mr. Conklin was a two-time winner of the Bank of America Mills B. Lane Scholarship. He holds a master's degree in business administration from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina, where he concentrated in corporate finance and entrepreneurship.
Mr. Conklin lives in Charlotte with his wife and three children.
