John R. Conklin IV (Johnny)
Johnny Conklin is a Director of BlackArch Partners. He has more than a decade of experience in middle-market investment banking and alternative debt capital transactions, including more than 30 sell-side, buy-side, strategic advisory and capital raising engagements.
Mr. Conklin serves as co-head of BlackArch’s Business & Professional Services Group with specific transaction experience with B2B, technology-enabled business models operating in the facility/building automation, security, energy, healthcare and consumer end markets.
Prior to joining BlackArch in January 2011, Mr. Conklin provided liquidity to middle-market industrial and distribution businesses in the form of alternative debt and sale-leaseback transactions. Prior to his principal investing activities, Mr. Conklin was an associate with Edgeview Partners, a middle-market investment bank founded by BlackArch co-founders Drew Quartapella and Matt Salisbury. Mr. Conklin also served as an investment banking analyst in the Healthcare practice at Raymond James & Associates, Inc., in St. Petersburg, FL.
Mr. Conklin earned his undergraduate degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech), receiving highest honors for his BS in management. While at Georgia Tech, Conklin was a two-time winner of the Bank of America Mills B. Lane Scholarship. He holds a master's degree in business administration from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina, where he concentrated in corporate finance and entrepreneurship.
Mr. Conklin lives in Charlotte with his wife and three children.
